"Know and grow" Makaton workshop

Makaton is a language programme that uses symbols, signs and speech to enable people to communicate. It is used widely in all age groups to help those with communication issues to understand what is being said to them, and to be able to communicate effectively with others about their needs, their choices, and emotions.

Makaton have now produced a brand new specific workshop based around faith and Christianity signs and symbols for use in churches, church groups and to share our faith.

The course will give you a…

• basic overview of the Makaton Language Programme and help you to learn Makaton Symbols and Signs for everyday vocabulary

And also give you an overview of

• using Makaton within a Christian context and help you to learn the Makaton Symbols and Signs Christian vocabulary
• as well as how to use Makaton for worship, prayer and Bible reading

Steff Shepherd, a local Makaton Tutor, will be running one of the first of these courses at Church House, Alan Turing Road, Guildford, Surrey on the 17^th May 2024, 9.30am – 4pm . Cost £40.
